Poetry for Lent

Christ Suffering

The Season of Lent is upon us,
The time for devotions and prayer.
The distribution of ashes upon us--
A reminder of pain and despair.

Let us deny ourselves the pleasures
We have grown accustomed to.
And walk a while with Jesus
Down the road He wants us to.

We all have a Cross we must carry
And though heavy at times, it appears,
Let us remember the Cross that He carried
And His burden, His pain and His tears.

Have Faith in your every tomorrow,
Make your every moment count.
Recall the Words and Blessings

From the Sermon on the Mount

On the Occasion of the Consecration of our new Parish church

Field of Dreams

We have gathered together
In prayer and thanksgiving
To look back and remember
Our very beginning

Truth Work and Struggle
Our motto and guide
Has been the inspiration
Our Visionaries cried

Our future will always be
A part of our past
The legacy left us
Is a promise to last

We shall keep our faith growing
For the new generation
For Truth Work And Struggle
Will be their salvation
